  • What is TPO?
A TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) roof is a type of single-ply roofing membrane made from thermoplastic materials. It’s known for its durability, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. TPO roofing is commonly used in commercial and residential applications, especially for flat or low-slope roofs. Key Features of TPO Roofing:Durability: TPO roofs are resistant to tears, punctures, and impact damage. Energy Efficiency: The reflective surface of TPO helps reduce energy costs by reflecting UV rays and heat. Flexibility: TPO remains flexible in various weather conditions, making it suitable for different climates. Environmental Benefits: TPO is recyclable and does not contain harmful chemicals, making it an eco-friendly option.
  • What are the three types of roofing coatings?
Acrylic roofing coatings are popular for their balance of performance and cost-effectiveness. These water-based coatings are easy to apply and come in a range of colors, providing a reflective surface that can significantly reduce roof temperatures and, consequently, cooling costs. Acrylic coatings are highly durable and flexible, making them suitable for a variety of weather conditions. However, they can degrade faster under standing water, so they’re best suited for sloped roofs where water ponding is minimal. Silicone roofing coatings are known for their excellent water resistance and durability. They form a seamless, monolithic barrier that can withstand prolonged exposure to water, making them ideal for flat or low-slope roofs where water ponding is common. Silicone coatings also resist UV radiation well, maintaining their reflective properties and elasticity over time. However, they can be more expensive than acrylics and, due to their slick surface, may require re-coating to maintain traction in high foot traffic areas. Urethane roofing coatings offer outstanding performance in terms of impact and abrasion resistance. They are particularly suited for roofs that experience high levels of foot traffic or are subject to extreme weather conditions. Urethane coatings come in two types: aromatic and aliphatic. Aromatic urethane is highly durable but can yellow under UV exposure, while aliphatic urethane retains its color and gloss but at a higher cost. Urethane coatings are more complex to apply and generally require a professional installer to ensure optimal performance.
  • What are the Key Features of Key System Roofing?
Integrated Components: Combines advanced waterproofing, insulation, and reflective materials. Weather Resistance: Designed to withstand extreme weather conditions. Energy Efficiency: Enhances energy efficiency through reflective and insulating materials. Longevity: Built for long-term performance with minimal maintenance.
  • What is PBC (Polyvinyl Chloride) Roofing?
PBC (Polyvinyl Chloride) Roofing: PBC roofing is another single-ply roofing option known for its chemical resistance and durability. It’s often used in environments where the roof may be exposed to harsh chemicals or oils. Key Features of PBC Roofing: Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to chemicals, oils, and greases. Durability: Strong and long-lasting, suitable for industrial applications. Fire Resistance: Provides good fire resistance properties. Flexibility: Remains flexible in various temperatures, reducing the risk of cracks.
